Internationals Network for Public Schools

The Gates Foundation identified the NYC based International Partnership Schools as an educational model with great promise for working with a difficult population - non native English speakers. They wanted to scale the model beyond its existing five schools. Criterion Ventures partnered with the Executive Director and her small team to create an effective operating model, balancing the autonomy of the schools with the strength and support of a shared model. We planned the opening of two new schools, nurtured a vibrant network among schools, and established a development office to create sustainability. Criterion recruited leaders for the board, shepherded a branding process which changed the name to Internationals Network for Public Schools and hired a Chief Operating Officer to take over our efforts.
