Identity
Criterion Ventures was founded in January 2002. We have transitioned through several business models since but over the past 3 years we have focused in on launching social ventures, either for clients or by taking an equity position in our own ventures.
In January, 2006, Criterion stopped working in traditional change management, organizational design, facilitation, coaching or advising so that we could focus all our energies on a few ventures at a time. This evolution has transformed us from a boutique consulting firm into a venture firm.
We have invested over the years in our core asset, a network of relationships. We networked not around a set of services, but rather through conversations about possibilities, trust, and shared vision. We have both a reservoir of social capital among the leaders in the social change world and well-honed practices for connecting with the people we need.
Our purpose: We incubate and scale ventures that create a better world.
Our vision for the world: The world is already connected; we make the connections visible so individual actions have incredible impact on the critical social issues of our times.
Our vision for ourselves:
Criterion is a nimble,
wonderfully-connected organization that
achieves dramatic good for the world.
The World
is already
Connected
We Make the
Connections
Visible
