As part of the process to name and define the issues surrounding medical debt, Criterion Ventures convened three summits. 

The Mapping Summit focused on understanding the scope and the impact of the patient portion of medical costs.  Its findings are presented in the Mapping Report.

During the Design Phase, we worked on identifying the leverage points, places of shared pain or possibility, and the components of the system.  Understanding the various pieces of the system and where there were places of impact allowed us to then focus on a solution.

During the Modeling Phase, we realized that the uncovered costs of healthcare formed a cash market and that the solution could be found in rationalizing the cash market.  These findings are presented in the report, The Cash Market in Healthcare.
