Middle East Roadmap to Peace
Criterion Ventures and the Center for Public Theology convened a series of dialogues around the subject of a Middle East Roadmap that generated an incredible sense of responsibility and call to action. Even those who had worked at this for decades felt a renewed sense of hope. Thanks to the Center for Public Theology, the timing of this conversation could not have been better; the Center’s leadership filled a longing and a void for many of the peace activists that gathered.
Out of an initial discussion, plans were concieved to implement a three-track effort that was simple in its actions, powerful if sustained concurrently and constantly renewed by a few simple things such as:
- Active leadership
- Written and circulated thoughts
- Community building and organizing
The tracks, in brief, were:
- TRACK 1 Building support and community and growing the Web Periodic meetings to keep up the generative dialogue and strengthen and expand the group and its bonds
- TRACK 2 Articulating thoughts Written materials that capture the essence of the dialogues – agreements and disagreements, and serve as a catalyst for more people to get involved
- TRACK 3 Planning and executing events with others Join appropriate events or plan annual mega-events that ignite people to action and connect the issues.
The CPT supported this effort by providing a monthly or quarterly or bimonthly forum, facilitation of the conversations, including planning, preparation, framing the dialogues and documenting the dialogues, a dissemination mechanism, support and participation in development of self-management mechanisms and support for the organic marketing took place as organizations joined and continues to shed light on the common ground and the spiritual principles.
