the team, the methodology and the network to launch ventures that create a better world.  We start and scale ventures by playing two roles:

• Partnering with founders in independent ventures.  By working with partners on a shared idea, new ventures can be launched.  Over time, passive income generated by equity ventures will provide investment capital for future projects.
• Consulting on key components to new ventures.  By engaging a core skill set of managing innovative ventures in the context of complex systems, Criterion bolsters key infrastructure and enables the future growth of new ventures.

We work in the social change space, often in fields such as health, finance, education, poverty, and religion.  There has been dramatic growth in this space, evidenced by the emergence of countless new non profits, hybrid models and alliances created in the last five years, which has created incredible opportunities for forming and building new entities.  The firm has a depth of experience and expertise in social change that enables its engagement in new, independent companies, or internal business lines:  innovative ways to finance health care; an executive health program for mission driven leaders; new models for urban Christian education are a few of our projects.

In our seven years, Criterion has managed the creation of more than a dozen business plans which launched social ventures.  Our methodology focuses on five areas of activity that determine success: mapping, invitation, naming, execution and structuring.  It is fluid, accessible and useful - the antithesis of a canned process. Relationships drive our work forward, and networking is a key way in which resources and ideas converge around projects.  Our 9,000 strong network helps us deliver on our projects by provide opportunities to not only cross-fertilize ideas but to tap into the energy of the larger movement for social change.  We strive to bring grace, hospitality, and invitation into the ways we network and interact to bring change to life.
